California Health Care Foundation

One in eight US births takes place in California, so the state of maternity care is often under scrutiny. To encourage patient and consumer groups’ involvement in improving maternity health quality, California Health Care Foundation asked us to design information graphics to frame the discussion about inequities faced by pregnant women and unwanted interventions during childbirth. Our Tale of Two Births information graphic, designed to accompany recent research on the topic, was the third most viewed CHCF online publication, earning local and national media attention.
